Summer 2014 Simulcas Part II: Trains, Mechs, and Mangaka

So on to round 2. A few look promising so far. But mostly I think I need more time to see how I feel about the series.

Akame ga Kill
Simulcast on Crunchyroll

Tatsumi is heading to the capital in order to save his village from starvation. He is a skilled fighter and able to slay monsters with ease. But on arriving in the capital he finds that entering the government service isn't as easy as he thought and is swindled. When about to sleep on the streets a rich girl invites him home. The family seems kind but he is to learn that there are things darker and more evil then the Monsters out in the countryside. I have to say this story is definitely dark and a bit on the bloody side. I'm not sure if I'm going to be able to deal with it. But I will try one more episode.

DRAMAtical Murder
Simulcast on Crunchroll

Hmm I don't know what to think of this. It seemed like a lot was crammed into the first episode. Aoba works at a junk shop. he seems to have a complicated past. The youth seems divided up into a gang like structure and there are cyberbattles in a game called Rhyme. There are also rumors of people being spritied away and of a team called Morphine. I have to say i'm a bit confused about whats going on. Maybe another episode is needed.

Monthly Girls Nozaki-kun
Simulcast n Crunchyroll

I found this to be pretty amusing. Sakura decides to confess to the guy she likes. Unfortunately she tells him she is his fan. He then gives her his autograph. Apparently he is a shoujo mangaka. And he gets her to help with his manuscript. He's pretty dense and doesn't get that she likes him. I am aware this is based off a manga, which I have not read. So far it looks fun.

Is There a Vet in the House
Simulcast on Crunchyroll

This Japanese Drama is about a family with no blood relations to each other who runs a veterinary clinic. The first episode really is about how important it is to let your family know how you feel and that even if your adopted you are still family. It looks like it will be fun and heartwarming.

Rail Wars
Simulcast on crunchyroll

It's about students doing job training for the Japanese National Railroads. They are assigned to the security department. Nothing to exciting really. I could have done without the panty shot though. It might be interesting. The ending song was cool.

This one is a mech series. A country is being invaded in a war of supposed Liberation. The invaders are advancing in the leaders have withdraw further in telling the men to defend the base to the last man. While trying to save a civilian woman with a transport truck a rookie mech pilots machine is rendered useless. The woman is irritated because her jobs at stake. Turns out she has a state of the art mech inside. She has the pilot get in and he is able to defeat the enemies. It's a machine that none of the other soldiers knew existed. It looks like it might be interesting.
